Navaratri- A season of colorful clothes
Navarati is a nine day festival which has great religious value for Hindus. It is being celebrated with great enthusiasm in various parts of the country though the way of celebration varies from community to community. In the eastern and northern part of the country, Goddess Durga is being worshiped during the occasion. In West Bengal the occasion is mainly celebrated as Durga Puja. Whereas in the western part of the country Navaratri is being celebrated by doing Garba and Dandiya dance in big rounds and ‘Pandals’ around the idols and statues of Goddess Durga.
As Garba and Dandiya are traditional dance forms and are done with religious beliefs, people usually wear traditional Navaratri dresses and ethnic wear during these dance nights.
